yeah, reconnects are cool... but with the current error 13 that is bugging the european players.. we won't be able to log in.. let alone reconnect

This is great news, finally Anet starting to move the game towards being structured and persistent. Maybe even a real community will start growing again, instead of anti social people with heroes. GW hasn't got any big changes like this for awhile. Skill balances and new land is cool but content like this only adds to the depth of the game. Now only if we can get a auction house, a deeper guild system and the ability to view our party members energy in the party window....

im so happy i could cry(not really cry:P) but im excited to hear about the wintersday stuff.....is there any mention of the candy cane weapons?I love those.

I posted this back on page 4 and never got an answer. It hasn't been stated specifically, so I just wanted to make sure that means that Wintersday will be celebrated in all 3 campaigns?

I love the reconnects. The afk while disconnected is a little disappointing though. The other team gets a free kill which works off dp and gives you dp. In some cases this could put you at 60 dp.
Why not just have your character cannot be targeted or take dmg while disconnected? Once the player reconnectes have an in game msg alerting players and a delay of say 30 seconds before the player can move or take any action.
Plz, Anet do what you can to prevent abuse. You guys have great ideas on adding things to your game for improvements but many times its implemented very poorly.

Computers are unable to read such errors. It can't tell the difference between a genuine disconnect and someone pulling the plug. So its not possible for such a thing to be implemented.

I'm sure either way they are left in the game as "AFK" so the ganking team will be leaving themselves completely helpless if they try to disconnect in any way. At least that's how Alex Weekes describes it.

Sounds great. I wonder how the reconnect thing is going to work though. You get disconnected, and you end up in an outpost where you have the option to hit a button in a new small window and poof you reconnect? Does this mean you could change your skills before you reconnect? I guess that could be handy if a monk brought the wrong skillset, they could just disconnect, reroll their skills, then reconnect back in. Then again it can be abused too. That is assuming the reconnect feature works that way.
Same with the party formation feature. I hope it's some kind of queuing window where you just click a button to advertize your availability rather than another chat window that just chats across districts. Can you imagine how that would be abused? Traders would have a field day flooding the party formation chat with WTS's lol.

The gank team never leaves; they just stand there, defenseless.

just wondering, was the recconects tested out early, Because one day i got err 7 and i was able to recontect, but from that point i wasnt able to.
